Jim Jarmusch and Jozef Van Wissem to hit the Stage at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge, on Monday, June 9th, and Tuesday, June 10th, 2025.
Celebrated Independent Filmmaker Jim Jarmusch will join forces with Dutch lutenist and minimalist composer Jozef Van Wissem for two evenings of hauntingly avant-folk and drone music. This collaboration marks a significant return to the LPR stage for the duo after 13 years, promising an intimate and captivating experience for attendees.
Jarmusch, known for his distinct cinematic style in films like “Stranger Than Paradise,” “Dead Man,” and “Broken Flowers,” has a long-standing passion for music that often permeates his work. His collaboration with Van Wissem showcases a different artistic facet, revealing his deep appreciation for minimalist and experimental soundscapes.
Jozef Van Wissem work often explores themes of spirituality and timelessness. His intricate and droning compositions create a mesmerizing atmosphere, perfectly complementing Jarmusch’s musical sensibilities. The duo’s music is described as a “dark hypnosis,” inviting listeners to lose themselves in its shadowy sonic mystery and emerge transformed.
Just days before their performances at LPR, Jarmusch and Van Wissem are slated to release their fourth album, titled “The Day the Angels Cried” available on BANDCAMP.
