Marie Westwood Magazine Party

Marie Westwood Magazine, powered by the Ivan Bitton Style House celebrated the 2019 Winter Edition at the historic Cedars Estate on Monday, December 2.

The “Great Gatsby” themed and invite only party started at the door with champagne offered to all arrivals upon entrance. Lavish, early twentieth century inspired attire was donned by guests, models and celebrities depicting the era.

A live performance by Laura Pieri and a fashion showcase featuring Ivan Bitton Style House designers highlighted the festivities as guests partied and danced the night away to the DJ’s rhythm inspired selections. Unveiled were the “Special K” lingerie collection by Madame Methven,  designs by Sue Wong and “Exotics” by Cedrick.

The Cedars Estate, currently owned by designer Sue Wong has a  long history in Los Angeles and has hosted such great visitors and residents such as Bela Lugosi, Howard Hughes, Jimi Hendrix, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and Johnny Depp. It is here that Jimi Hendrix allegedly wrote “Purple Haze” and the estate has been featured in several movies including “Sunset Boulevard” and “Easy Rider”.

Special guest Mario Lopez and guests pleased their palate on hors d’oeuvres and champagne while a full bar offered other more adventurous guests a variety of cocktails, mock tails and more. The nearly 8500 square foot home was crowded with partygoers throughout the night and although there are rumors that the estate is haunted, there was nothing scary about the festive interest of fashion, design and a classic Hollywood celebration.

American Music Awards pre party and gifting suite

The Kimpton La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood was the location for an American Music Awards pre party on November23, 2019. Hosted by GBK Productions, appetizers and fine wine was served as celebrities from many genres were gifted high end products from vendors with an eye on Hollywood.

A full DJ set was performed by Jes Danz and dancing was not only allowed, (This was not Footloose) but encouraged. The after party spilled into the bar and pool area as the evening grew late with several live acts performing for the enthusiastic crowd.

Stars from Ozark, Days of Our Lives, American Idol, Good Girls, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless,  Entourage, Stumptown, Arrested Development, Famously Single and others attended and partied the night away with great eats in their belly, love in their hearts and a cache of gifted goodies.

Lumiere International Fashion Event Los Angeles 2019

(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — Hollywood, Ca — NOV 16TH, 2019 — An amazing gathering of international fashion experts occured in Hollywood this past Saturday. The Lumiere International Fashion event was held at the Industry Loft in Hollywood. Designers, performers and charity all merged for a one night exclusive fashion event. The red carpet was full of photographers hoping to get a shot of the latest fashion world attendees.

Event co-Producers Fionna Wong (L) with Laurent Meler (R)

This happening event was produced by Meler Productions. Laurent Meler and Fionna Wong are co-founders of Meler Productions. They created a fashion event where individuals in the fashion world could connect. Fionna is passionate about fashion and Laurent has a background in international business relations. They worked all night to create an exciting and very hip fashion event of up and comers.
The event was hosted by Julien Tshikuna. Julien is a citizen of the world who does stand up comedy in the Los Angeles area. Julien kept the runway show going with jokes about his time in Belgium and the Congo.
The charity partner for the event was Beauty for Freedom (BFF). This non-profit is dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking and at-risk youth by providing unique and supporting recovery that emphasizes creativity and skills training Creativity has been proven to help survivors rebuild their lives and puts them on the road to independence. Sasha Kerbel

One of the coolest things that I’ve seen at a fashion event is the use of a live piano player. Cody Gilette played a grand piano and it sounded amazing. Cody is a pianist, a music director, and a composer since he was a boy. Cody is a modern day composer who loves opera. Cody has composed several operas and musicals. Most recently, he completed a musical based on Albert Camus’ “Caligula”.
To kick the runway show off, Saya Fujihara did a modern dance that was really fun to watch. Saya began her dance studies in Kyoto when she was four years old. Her main study is contemporary dance, jazz and ballet. I would call her dance piece a sort of interpretive dance. She seemed to translate the excitement of the evening into dance piece.

Sanjini ~ Actress and Producer “Eye of the Empress”

There were several designers whose designs graced the runway. Of course, Parris Harris was backstage coordinator.  The show had a stylish vibe. Fashion designer Ximena Valero is a visionary in the fashion world since she was a kid in Mexico. Ximena Valero Corporation is an international brand that produces, distributes and sells women’s designer clothing around the world. The designs that they had on the runway were unique. The crowd really seemed to like the designs.

Jennifer Felts is from Dallas. Her love of Japanese culture can be seen in the logo for her brand. Literally it says – Tokyo Twiggy. This was a nickname she got in high school because she was so skinny and she loved Japanese culture. Jenn is known for making her own fabrics and designs.
K. Lee Marie was in attendance and took her time posing for photos on the red carpet. She was really enjoying the event. Her latest song came out this month called “Let Go”. IG @k.lee.marie.music

On the runway

The evening was so much fun. People arrived early and the runway was packed with enthusiastic celebrities who came to see the latest fashions. The after party kicked off after the runway and it was a great chance to met new people.
The Hollywood Press Corps looks forward to the next International fashion event!

About Laura T. Sharpe:
Gravely injured in a tragic helicopter crash on California’s Catalina Island that killed three other passengers in 2008, Laura Sharpe suffered critical, near-fatal injuries that would change the course of her life forever. Sharpe fought her way through four weeks in a coma, endured 43 broken bones, burns over more than 40 percent of her body, multiple skin grafts, the near-loss of an eye, and the partial amputation of her foot. For more than two years after her near-death experience, Sharpe endured endless physical pain and 40 – 60 weekly hours of medical treatment and therapies.
Focusing on the future, and feeling grateful for all the love and support she was blessed to receive, Laura Sharpe embarked on a journey of re-discovery through a personal engagement with the arts. From her work with esteemed artists in the areas of photography, film, dance, sculpture and music, Sharpe was able to rise above and beyond her pain and dramatically improve the quality of her recovery through the creative interaction between herself and the artists. Compelled to help other trauma survivors find strength in their recovery, regain a sense of hope and see the beauty in life, Laura Sharpe founded Artists For Trauma.
