About Laura T. Sharpe:
Gravely injured in a tragic helicopter crash on California’s Catalina Island that killed three other passengers in 2008, Laura Sharpe suffered critical, near-fatal injuries that would change the course of her life forever. Sharpe fought her way through four weeks in a coma, endured 43 broken bones, burns over more than 40 percent of her body, multiple skin grafts, the near-loss of an eye, and the partial amputation of her foot. For more than two years after her near-death experience, Sharpe endured endless physical pain and 40 – 60 weekly hours of medical treatment and therapies.
Focusing on the future, and feeling grateful for all the love and support she was blessed to receive, Laura Sharpe embarked on a journey of re-discovery through a personal engagement with the arts. From her work with esteemed artists in the areas of photography, film, dance, sculpture and music, Sharpe was able to rise above and beyond her pain and dramatically improve the quality of her recovery through the creative interaction between herself and the artists. Compelled to help other trauma survivors find strength in their recovery, regain a sense of hope and see the beauty in life, Laura Sharpe founded Artists For Trauma.

About Presyon:

Presyon is an Manhattan-based activewear line that is uniquely designed to meet the needs of both the professional and everyday athlete. Drawing its inspiration from the word pressure, the brand itself symbolizes the image of athletes who push themselves to their maximum potential. Our uniquely designed apparel gives the wearer support, comfort, mobility and fashion-forward style.

Presyon came to life when the founders realized so much of the fitness apparel available in today’s market was lacking in quality and authentic performance enhancement. The founders, everyday athletes themselves, understand the unique needs of the market and with backgrounds in the garment industry, so they know how to effectively source the best materials to bring the products that provide actual performance enhancement to market.

Although Presyon’s current perception is that of an athlete only brand, it was designed with special consideration to the needs of the everyday athlete in helping them to perform like a professional. Presyon will deliver value to its customers and support their active and happy lifestyles. This results in creating clothing that makes customers look and feel great.

Dustin Ferguson’s Revenge Thriller ROBOWOMAN Premieres at the Glendale Laemmle

The much anticipated theatrical Premiere of the sci-fi revenge thriller “RoboWoman” from multi award-winning director Dustin Ferguson (“Nemesis 5: The New Model” which is currently available on Redbox) will take place at the Laemmle Glendale at 207 N Maryland Avenue on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The film will be presented as a late-night “Grindhouse Experience”, complete with actual Grindhouse movie trailers and bumpers from the 1970s and 80s. The red carpet will begin at 9:30pm, and the Premiere of “RoboWoman: The Grindhouse Experience” will start at 10pm. There will be a Q & A after the film with Ferguson, the stars of RoboWoman and the film’s crew.

“RoboWoman” follows Vivica Stevens (Dawna Lee Heising, “Blade Runner”, “Nemesis 5”, “Revenge of The Samurai Cop”) on her last night at a temp agency as she accepts a date with a persistent co-worker. Soon she finds herself cornered in a dark park at night and brutally attacked, raped and left for dead by her date and his deranged friends. She’s found barely alive by her roommate, played by Sue Price (Albert Pyun’s “Nemesis 2-5”) and undergoes illegal, experimental “cybernetic” surgery where she is given a replacement robotic arm and visor to correct her vision. However, the new implants don’t settle well because it isn’t long before she decides to seek revenge with the aid of her new attachments. One by bloody one she stalks and kills her attackers before the shocking and revealing conclusion!

The film features many notable celebrity appearances by Mel Novak (Quentin Tarantino favorite “Game of Death”, Steve McQueen: American Icon with Mel Gibson) as the deranged “Doctor Michaels”, Aki Aleong (“Missing In Action III”) as an innocent victim at the wrong place at the wrong time and Brinke Stevens (“Slumber Party Massacre”) as the evil Corporate Executive behind it all. Additionally, Vida Ghaffari (“The Mindy Project”), Jonathan Nation (“Elvis Lives”), Thom Mulligan (“FBI: The Untold Stories”),, Peter Stickles (“Showgirls 2”), Freddy James (“A Doggone Adventure”), Mark Popejoy (“The Amityville Legacy”), Clint Beaver (“Nemesis 5”), Zach Muhs (Albert Pyun’s “Bad Ass Angels And Demons”), Gregory Blair (“Garden Party Massacre”), Shaun Vetick (“Flyover Country”), Ken May (“House of Pain”) and newcomer Nathan Gershon (“Meathook Massacre 5”) appear in the film as well. It was written by Mike Reeb (“Nemesis 5”, “House of Pain”), produced by the late Randy Scornavacca and executive produced by Aki Aleong. The special effects were created by Joe Castro (“Wishmaster 3 & 4”, “Night of The Demons 3”).

Ferguson has announced that “RoboWoman” will become a trilogy. The action revenge thriller “RoboWoman”, the first film in the “RoboWoman” trilogy, will be released in early 2019 by Wild Eye Releasing. The second film will begin shooting in Fall 2019. (HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — FEBRUARY 24TH, 2019 — The 2nd annual Griot Gala Toast to Diversity & Inclusion After Party took place at The District by Hannah An. Six hundred guests gathered to honor and celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of today’s top entertainers, influencers and industry greats who represent today’s diversity, inclusion and the world becoming ONE. Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a global nonprofit organization providing cutting-edge medicine, advocacy to over 1 million people in 43 countries and largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S, served as the charity partner onboard.

The Griot Gala celebrates diversity and inclusion while recognizing outstanding achievement in the Arts and Entertainment Industry. The Griot honors women and people of color who exude a Spirit of Excellent and who are trailblazers in the Arts and Entertainment Industry. The Griot recognizes the need for diversity, inclusion, and equality for ALL people regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. We are GRIOT.

Highlights from the evening incorporated Griot Gala co-founders Dionne Miller and Reid Johnson honoring Tony Award-winning and acclaimed veteran of film and television, Sheryl Lee Ralph with The Trailblazer Award. “Sheryl Lee Ralph is a trailblazer in the worlds of entertainment and activism. She represents the foundation of what the Griot Gala stands for and to honor her was a dream come true for her organization,” stated Miller.

The VIP Lounge featured “Opulence Revealed,” a multi-sensory and interactive tasting experience for exclusive celebrities and industry members. Guests sampled Rémy Martin’s XOsophisticated flavors paired with fragrant fruits such as grapes, pear, dried apricots, and figs; spices like cinnamon, dried saffron, and stem ginger; or earthy characters like walnuts, hazelnuts, cheese, and chocolates — where taste buds hung upon every note. Premium producer of non-toxic, essential oils, Young Living created an aromatherapy oasis of diffused oils that streamed throughout the air of the VIP lounge as well. Full body massage chairs further heightened the senses to promote relaxation for those trying to unwind from the excitement of the 91st Academy Awards. Opulence Lounge furnishings were provided by Vitality Furniture, committed to traditional and contemporary values that create quality relationships and classic environments.  Jamal Weathers, owner of Kush Boys, created the “Kush Boys LIT Lounge” with DAB bar and curated cannabis treats in the Oscars After Party Tent.
