Acclaimed vocalist Amy London takes the iconic stage at Birdland tonight to celebrate the release of Alto Madness, bringing her signature warmth, swing, and flawless vocal artistry to a classic NYC jazz institution.
London delivered a masterclass in bebop dexterity, anchored by the rich, blues-infused work of saxophonist Michael Hashim.
This is London’s first Solo Album in Eight Years: Alto Madness marks London’s anticipated return as a band leader after nearly a decade, showcasing her evolution as a master jazz vocalist, lyricist, and arranger.
The album pays homage to compositions and repertoire associated with legendary alto players, including Benny Carter, Louis Jordan, and Jimmy Dorsey.
