(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) ā€” Los Angeles, California ā€” On April 26, 2025, the Greek Theatre buzzed with excitement for the much-anticipated Light Up the Blues. Hosted by the legendary Stephen Stills and his wife, Kristen, this annual event brought together a star-studded lineup of performers and a dedicated audience, all united in support of Autism Speaks and the autism community. This was the seventh Light Up the Blues.

As guests arrived on the blue carpet, the atmosphere was fun and electric. The sun was shining and everyone was in a good mood. Notable figures included Ken Jeong, who hosted the event, and Stephen Stills, who made a memorable entrance on the red carpet. Linda Perry was there as well as the Spectrum Bluegrass band. His sons, Chris and Justin Stills, were also in attendance, capturing the media’s attention. The concert featured an impressive lineup that included performances from Billy Idol, Neil Young, and Christina Applegate. During the event, Applegate took a moment to address the audience, sharing heartfelt words of encouragement and support for the autism community. Her presence and message resonated deeply, reinforcing the importance of awareness and inclusion.

Neil Young and Stephen Stills delivered an incredible performance of “Rockin’ in the Free World,” captivating the audience. They also played “For What It’s Worth” together, along with a powerful rendition of “Protest Song.” The energy in the Greek Theatre was palpable as the audience was captivated by the soulful performances, including those from autistic musical artists.

As the concert unfolded, it became clear that the event was a remarkable success, with nearly every seat filled. Stephen Stills wowed the crowd with his performance, showcasing his enduring talent and commitment to the cause. Billy Idol and Steve Stevens, along with Cat Power, Nathaniel Rateliff, Rufus Wainwright, and Linda Perry, also contributed their talents to raise money for Autism Speaks.

The Light Up the Blues Concert has become a cornerstone of Autism Speaks’ efforts, marking its seventh year while celebrating the organization’s 20th anniversary. Kristen and Stephen Stills expressed their gratitude, stating, ā€œWe feel grateful that we can play a part in helping Autism Speaks to fulfill their mission. All the amazing artists joining us will give our audience a night to remember for many years to come.ā€

Keith Wargo, President and CEO of Autism Speaks, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the concert’s role in amplifying the voices of autistic individuals. ā€œAs we push forward, driven by the voices of autistic people, we’re tearing down barriers to create a world where disability inclusion is a reality,ā€ said Wargo.

The Light Up the Blues Concert not only provides entertainment but also serves as a vital platform for change. Proceeds from the event will support Autism Speaks’ initiatives, which include funding research, increasing early childhood screening, and improving resources for individuals with autism throughout their lifespan.

As the night came to a close, it was clear that the Light Up the Blues 7 Concert was more than just a musical event; it was a powerful reminder of community strength and the importance of advocacy. Attendees left the Greek Theatre with a renewed sense of hope and purpose, inspired by the performances and shared mission to support those on the autism spectrum.
