(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — Los Angeles, California — On April 26, 2025, the Greek Theatre turned into a magical blue wonderland for the seventh annual Light Up the Blues, and let me tell you, it was a night to remember! As the sun shined down, the blue carpet welcomed a host of stars, all united for a cause close to their hearts: autism awareness.
The energy was relaxed and fun as guests strolled down the blue carpet, with smiles, laughter, and playful poses for the cameras. The charismatic Ken Jeong took the reins as host for the evening, keeping the mood light and fun. Ken Jeong is funny! Her also did a good job hosting and running the auction. They auctioned off a Martin guitar for $10,000! It was a family affair for Stephen Stills, who made a memorable entrance alongside his wife Kristen and their sons, Chris and Justin. The trio truly captured the essence of the night—family, music, and community coming together for a greater purpose. Stephen was in a great mood and joking around with the photographers.

The blue carpet was buzzing with excitement. I was there with the Hollywood Press Corps to capture all the cool moments. From the playful interactions to heartfelt conversations, we took hundreds of photos.

Once the blue carpet festivities wrapped up, the real magic began inside the Greek Theatre. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as iconic musicians prepared to take the stage. Neil Young kicked things off, his unmistakable voice resonating through the venue, igniting the crowd. Billy Idol and Steve Stevens brought their rockstar energy, and you could feel the crowd’s excitement surge with every note. I really thought they would have a drummer but this was an acoustic set. Steve Stevens did an amazing job. He is a legend and known for playing guitar on Michael Jackson’s Dirty Diana as well as being Billy Idol’s guitar player for 30 years. He is one of the most original guitars from the 1980s. Billy Idol was amazing what a legend. All those cool song.

As the night went on, the lineup just kept getting better. Linda Perry’s heartfelt performance brought a touch of soul, while K. Michelle, known for her powerful voice, captivated the audience. The Spectrum Bluegrass Band offered a refreshing twist, blending genres and showcasing the diverse talent within the autism community.

Steve Stevens added a flair of rock ‘n’ roll, while Rufus Wainwright charmed everyone with his unique style and poignant lyrics. Then, Nathaniel Rateliff took to the stage, wrapping the night in a warm, soulful embrace that left everyone feeling uplifted.

Throughout the concert, the focus was on more than just the music—it was about coming together to support Autism Speaks and the incredible work they do. Each performance was a reminder of the power of music to uplift spirits and inspire change. The audience, filled with families, friends, and advocates, cheered and danced, embodying the spirit of unity that the event represented.

As the night drew to a close, it was clear that the Light Up the Blues concert was more than a series of performances; it was a heartfelt celebration of community, resilience, and hope. Attendees left the Greek Theatre with full hearts, inspired by the music and the shared commitment to make a difference for those on the autism spectrum.
