Green Valley Bluegrass Band Kicks Off Cadillac Zack’s Blues Party and Jam at the Maui Sugar Mill Saloon

(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — Tarzana, CA —  The Green Valley Bluegrass band made its debut at the Maui Sugar Mill Saloon on Monday, May 4th, marking a significant milestone as the first bluegrass band to perform for Cadillac Zack’s Blues Party and Jam. This celebrated event has been a staple in Tarzana for over 19 years, drawing music lovers from across the region. Cadillac Zack recently had his 2000th show at the Sugar Mill.

The evening commenced shortly after 6:00 p.m., with the five-member band delivering an engaging performance that resonated with the enthusiastic crowd. The band features Tim Dela Motte on mandolin, Luke Stevens on guitar, Corwin VanHook on guitar, John Swiheart on banjo, and Dustin Brown on stand up bass showcasing their talents through a mix of classic bluegrass tunes and contemporary favorites.

Among the highlights of the night was their rendition of “Sitting on Top of the World,” a song made famous by the Mississippi Sheiks, as well as “Mule Skinner Blues,” originally by Jimmie Rodgers. The audience responded with applause after each song, reflecting the band’s ability to captivate the crowd.

Cadillac Zack, known for his dedication to live blues music, expressed excitement about the inclusion of bluegrass into the long-standing blues tradition. “It’s great to see different genres coming together, and the Green Valley Bluegrass band brought a fresh energy,” he said.

As the night progressed, the Maui Sugar Mill filled to capacity, with patrons eager to enjoy the unique blend of music. The crowd’s enthusiasm underscored the enduring appeal of live performances in Tarzana.

Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne came out in a stunning red suit. He played boogie boogie piano for hours. The Blues Bossa showed off his skills by easily performing song after song. With his piano, he can play solo or with the band. He’s a juke box of blues boogie woogie.

The Green Valley Bluegrass band’s performance was a lot of fun for everybody. The boys are playing shows around Los Angeles. They will be playing at the Maui Sugar Mill on December 7th.
