Robby Krieger Brings the Soul Savages to The Three Clubs

(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — Los Angeles, CA — The Hollywood Press Corps stopped by The Three Clubs in Hollywood on October 8th to catch Robby Krieger and the Soul Savages — and found an intimate venue perfectly suited to a night of live music.

Iconic guitarist Robby Krieger played his SG alongside legendary bassist Kevin “Brandino” Brandon, renowned drummer Franklin Vanderbilt and illustrious keyboardist Ed Roth. The band sounded locked in from the start, building on a dialed-in sound check and a lively exchange between the rhythm section and Roth’s keys.

The Three Clubs offers a cozy listening room tucked behind the bar, with a small stage and strong sound. From that close-up setting, the crowd could take in every turn of the band’s jazz-inflected set—including a standout bass solo from Brandino.

Before the show, Krieger spent time backstage with the band. He also drew warm praise from fans outside the venue, including one concertgoer who had traveled from Venice and said he’d seen Krieger perform more than 20 times.

Krieger’s generosity and easygoing presence made the evening feel personal, while the Soul Savages delivered the kind of musicianship that rewards a close listen. It was a memorable night in a small Hollywood room—and a pleasure to hear these players jam together.
