How did you get your start in acting?
I started by being an extra on a tv show that was shooting in Maryland. I then began to take acting classes at theater conservatories and continued my studies at Stella Adler Studios New York and The Herbert Berghof (HB) Studio of New York, where I soon started booking small parts in tv and films.
How did you make the transition to also produce as well act and how’s it like to be a multi-hyphenate?
I started to produce short films because I didn’t want to wait for
opportunities. I wanted to create them as well. I eventually moved on to producing feature films and this has helped tremendously in telling stories.
I noticed you have a great international background. Do you ever play foreign characters given all the languages you speak?
I do often play foreign characters such as: African, Caribbean. It has
been of great use of me speaking French and being able to switch into different dialects.
What’s it like to be a model especially a hand model?
Being a model and a hand model is quite an interesting journey. Being the face of a popular brand brings more awareness and opportunities and being a hand model has been a fun, creative way of using my hands in different ads.
What was it like to win the prestigious Accolade Award?
Winning an Accolade Award was amazing. Getting an award for something that you created and the audience, people receiving it well. I am grateful for the experience and the award recognition.
How did you get involved with the Kapow Film Festival?
Our Film Director created the Kapow Film Festival. After discussing with us its premise and mission, we became involved and have been exposed to amazing storytellers from all over the world and bringing their stories to the general public.
What advice do you give those just starting out in this industry?
My advice would be to get involved in as many organizations as
possible. Ask questions. It’s all about information and experience that help with confidence.
What upcoming projects do you have coming up?
Feature Films: Black Pumpkin, The House in The Middle Of Nowhere.
You have achieved so much in this industry. Is there any other facet
you’d like to conquer (i.e. directing)?
I love producing. I love putting projects together. Perhaps someday I
may look at directing but for now, I’m Loving Acting & producing.
