The Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) has announced the return of its signature month-long celebration, the 2026 Voices International Theatre and Arts Festival, running from June 4 through June 26. Under this year’s timely theme, Beyond the Frame, the festival features a vibrant, multidisciplinary lineup of global and local talent spanning theater, dance, music, and immersive installations across multiple Jersey City venues, including White Eagle Hall and Mana Contemporary. Highlighted by the world premiere of Europe’s visionary director Romeo Castellucci’s Cantos, the festival aims to move beyond traditional theatrical boundaries to foster profound cross-cultural dialogue, challenge perspectives, and build community bridges in a time of growing division.
Co-produced and curated by JCTC Executive Producer Olga Levina and cultural manager Tomek Smolarski, the extensive 2026 program boasts international works from Spain, Argentina, South Korea, Slovakia, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic, alongside powerful local visionaries like Grammy-nominated poet Kevin Powell. In addition to a diverse schedule of performances—ranging from the physical theater of Bill Bowers to a Latin-infused reimagining of Giselle—the festival will host an all-day Professional Voices Festival Conference on June 11 to unite artists and cultural leaders. Supported by funding from the NJEDA and the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, tickets for the festival’s public events span from free admission to $50, with full festival passes accessible on the official JCTC website.
Voices invites audiences to explore Jersey City’s thriving arts scene just a few PATH train stops from New York City.
Festival events take place at White Eagle Hall (337 Newark Ave), Mana Contemporary (888 Newark Ave), Nimbus Arts Center (329 Warren St), Grace Church Van Vorst (39 Erie St), Barrow Mansion (83 Wayne St), the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza (134-158 Newark Ave) and other venues throughout Jersey City.
