(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — New York City, New York — New York City-based multidisciplinary artist Ricardo Woo, originally from São Paulo, Brazil, brings an unique perspective based on his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo, and a Master of Arts from New York University.
At Ricardo Woo’s latest SoHo underground show, the artist deliveres a sculptural performance that embolds both creation and destruction.
Mr. Woo says he is inspired mostly by dance and movement: they are the core essence of his work and its ramifications.
In his latest instalation on Space UnderGreene, “Frozen Jazz”, the artist envisions a perpetual interplay between painting and sculpture, manifesting as dance.

According to Mr. Woo, paintings will always be battling sculptures, resulting in dance.
“Frozen Jazz” is in its second installment, when Mr. Woo further develops his “Frozen Jazz” methodology: a spontaneous and improvisational ritual that blends painting, sculpture, and performance, allowing rhythm, choice, and chance to shape his artistic expression.
Drawing inspiration from a Miles Davis quote: “A painting is music you can see, and music is a painting you can hear”, Mr. Woo develops the concept that “no art form can exist without musical and Architectural principles”, another favorite quote of the artist by Khaled Saleh Pascha.
In conclusion, Mr. Woo says that Architecture IS frozen music.
