Los Angeles, California (September 16, 2020) – A group of crazies tries its hand at social engineering in 1BR, a claustrophobic thriller set in a Los Angeles apartment complex. The film which is now available on Netflix stars actress Celeste Sully, in the role of Lisa, the loyal friend who is the voice of reason to Sarah, played by Nicole Brydon Bloom. 1BR was written and directed by David Marmor and also star Naomi Grossman, Giles Matthey, Alan Blumenfeld, Taylor Nichols and Andrea Gabriel.
Daily Variety raved: “Lisa (Celeste Sully) demonstrates how not to get pushed around by the bosses.” In a time of isolation and social distancing this film has hit a nerve with audiences and has been trending on the top 10 on Netflix since its debut.
Sully, the daughter of an Afro/Indo Guyanese mother and an Irish/German father, understands the importance of utilizing her career as a platform for change. Born and raised in Chicago, Celeste is a Method Actor trained by Tony Greco and is a former Division I Basketball Player at Lindsey Wilson College. After graduating with a degree in Biology, Celeste relocated to Los Angeles and has since worked in television, film, commercials and print.
Celeste Sully’s television and film credits include: Second Generation Wayans (Tiffany) acting opposite Tatyana Ali, George O. Gore II, Craig and Damien Dante Wayans and Deray Davis. She was also featured in Toni Braxton’s Biopic: Unbreak My Heart, directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall, and starring Debbie Morgan, Lex Scott Davis, Tiffany Hines and Skye P. Marshall.
