(HOLLYWOOD PRESS CORPS) — In a time when home renovation shows are a popular trend on TV and having a social media celebrity status has gained ground, Quibi brings a new series titled Flipped. The short form comedy presents couple Jann and Cricket Melfi (Will Forte & Kaitlin Olson) as creative visionaries in a world of fools, destined for the small screen. After losing their jobs, they discover an HGTV contest to become the next interior design power couple. They immediately set off to film their submission video renovating an abandoned shack in the desert, not realizing that the shack is a storehouse for a Mexican cartel. In a lucky twist of fate, the cartel members want to put their “skills” to work. https://quibi.com
Enter Iris Almario, actress and true animal advocate. Almario joins the cast of Flipped in the recurring role of an admirer of the Melfi’s home decoration abilities who’s looking into hiring the couple for a renovation job. She will be acting opposite series regulars SNL Alum Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) award-winning actress/director Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven, The Godfather Part II) and Arturo Castro (Alternatino).
“I play a recurring role on the series. Without revealing too much I can say that my character is impressed by the Melfis and wants to hire them. It was a fun show to work on. I worked with Will, Kaitlin, Arturo, Eva & Andy” said Almario about her experience filming the show.
Almario’s long list of credits features highly acclaimed shows including: All Rise (CBS), Nobodies (TV Land), Jane The Virgin (CW), Code Black (CBS), NCIS (CBS), Bosch (Amazon), American Crime Story (FX Network), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (CW),
a recurring role in Switched at Birth (Freeform) opposite Constance Marie, Heart of Dixie (CW), The Young & The Restless (CBS) and General Hospital (ABC) just to name a few. Film credits include: Murder in Mexico The Bruce Beresford-Redman Story (Lifetime), God Bless America, Below the Beltway, and The Last Request.
Almario’s charity work includes being the co-founder of WUFAW (Women United For Animal Welfare), a 501(c)3 animal welfare non-profit. The organization’s focus is on improving animal welfare locally and abroad through direct action in the field. WUFAW works with foreign and local partners to help set up education programs, build sanctuaries, provide low cost veterinary care, and many other acts that enhance the lives of animals. With only two and half months into 2020 WUFAW has helped animals in Cambodia, South Korea, Puerto Rico & Vietnam. (https://wufaw.org)
