After an extensive five-year, $220 million renovation, the venerable Frick Collection has once again opened its doors to the public at its historic Fifth Avenue location. The meticulous project has breathed new life into the Gilded Age mansion, offering visitors expanded gallery space, now incorporating the once-private second floor of the Frick family residence.

Enhanced lighting systems and a restored skylight in the West Gallery illuminate masterpieces by artistic giants such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Bellini, promising a richer and more immersive viewing experience.

Beyond the aesthetic upgrades, the reopening introduces new visitor amenities designed to enhance the overall experience. These additions include a serene café with views of the 70th Street Garden, a thoughtfully curated gift shop, and a state-of-the-art 218-seat auditorium for lectures and performances.

In a move to broaden accessibility, the Frick is offering a “pay-what-you-wish” admission on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, as well as free entry for visitors aged 10-18 and care partners accompanying visitors with disabilities, ensuring that this cultural treasure can be enjoyed by a wider audience.
